BMW denies it is considering F1 return

BMW has denied it is considering a return to Formula One after Bernie Ecclestone said it would make sense for the German car manufacturer to rejoin the sport under the next generation of engine regulations.

Max Chilton dismisses 'rich kid' snipes

Max Chilton has dismissed suggestions that he owes his place in Formula One to his father's wealth more than his own talent. His father is a senior player at insurance multinational AON and has not been shy in using his own fortune to boost the chances of his children. Max's older brother Tom has been able to forge a presence in World Touring Cars and now Max has a prestigious F1 seat with Marussia.

Mercedes F1 team share holder Niki Lauda has hailed Pirelli’s move to alter the design of its 2013 tyres ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix next month and beyond.

Ecclestone could face bribery charges

Bernie Ecclestone is set to face charges in Germany relating to the Gerhard Gribkowsky bribery case, according to a report in Sueddeutsche Zeitung. The newspaper claims that investigations into the case are now complete and a Munich court is preparing to file charges within the next month. However, there are likely to be delays as the charge sheet needs to be translated into English before being delivered to Ecclestone's lawyers.

Following his second place in Race 1 James Nash, driving a Chevrolet Cruze, went one better in Race 2 and took his first ever WTCC race win. His victory was also the first for the bamboo-engineering team in the WTCC and it meant that both the races at the Salzburgring were won by competitors in the Yokohama Trophy. Once again, Yvan Muller picked off the drivers ahead of him; starting from tenth on the grid, Muller finished in second place to record his second podium result of the afternoon. Norbert Michelisz finished third in the Zengö Motorsport Honda Civic.

Rosberg pinning hopes on qualifying

Nico Rosberg admits Mercedes' qualifying pace could be the key to success at next weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. After securing a front-row lock-out in Barcelona last weekend, both Mercedes cars slipped back in the race as they struggled with their tyres overheating. Rosberg dropped back from pole position to sixth place, but having qualified second in Monaco last year and with overtaking almost impossible on the street circuit he believes Mercedes could benefit from a strong Saturday.

Honda confirms return to F1 in 2015

Honda has confirmed it will return to Formula One with McLaren in 2015. The Japanese manufacturer has not competed in the sport since shutting its factory team at the end of 2008.

Pirelli making changes for Canada

Paul Hembery says Pirelli will make "some structural changes" to the tyres in time for the Canadian Grand Prix in order to bring races back to two or three stop strategies.
