Help to protect the environment

The Hungaroring is committed to protecting the environment, and in recent years it gave every proof of it. At this year's Formula 1 Magyar Nagydíj, in cooperation with Every Can Counts programme, we are raising awareness of recycling the aluminium beverage packaging in an interactive and entertaining way.

At the spectators’ area behind the grandstands a pixel wall will be set up giving the fans the chance to express their creativity by creating any image (F1-related, of course) together using half-litre beer cans. These cans are, by the way, collected by volunteers during the race weekend, putting them into backpacks and then recycle them. Separate collection is very important for cans, because they can be recycled for infinitely without any deterioration, a recycled can saves 95% of the energy needed to make a new one, and saves the energy and emission equivalent to three-hour computer usage.

While the Hungaroring is preparing for the 37th Formula 1 Magyar Nagydíj as a permanent venue of the F1 calendar (where environmental awareness is also becoming more and more important), the Every Can Counts programme has also been running for 12 years (with more than 200 can recycling machines across the country), so two organisations with a long tradition of cooperation are now working together for a good cause.
