Rescheduling – European Truck Racing Championship at the Hungaroring in October!

The monsters’ fight takes place this autumn at the Hungaroring. Promoter of ETRC announced the details of the revised calendar and the full-season entries as well, featuring 17 drivers, so it will be the second largest grid in the last five years.
The revised calendar includes 6 rounds instead of 8 this season with 4 races at each weekend. Hungarian fans might be delighted, because their favourite, Norbert Kiss will get into the fight for the points and top truck racers of Europe are confirmed to race at the Hungaroring on 17-18 October.

Zsolt Gyulay, CEO of Hungaroring Sport Zrt.: ’We have worked hard to be able to organize the event in October. Both parties have done their best to finalize an agreement, knowing the Hungaroring round was always one of the best events of the championship with one of the highest number of spectators. We truly believe that this year will be the same and we will be able to organize the event in front of fans. We have tried to find an appropriate date for it. Two-time European champion Nobert Kiss has a huge group of fans, and if everything goes well, we will be happy to see him racing in front of his home crowd later this year.’

Rolf Werner, managing director of international promoter ETRA: ‘With the strong full-season grid we received a clear mandate from our teams and over the last couple of months, we have worked hard to be able to keep as many races as possible on our calendar. Unlike other Championships, which had to cancel many races, we found alternative dates for 6 of our 8 scheduled events. We can honestly say we have been excited that so many teams have committed to our championship this season and that we all work through these adverse times together.’

Norbert Kiss, two-time European truck racing champion: ‘I had already planned the end of April weekend since it had been announced last year. We were talking about the team that it was going to be huge for us and for the whole domestic motorsport community as well. Unfortunately rescheduling was needed, then the June date was also cancelled due to the pandemic situation. I really hope that it will take place in October, because I am looking forward to starting the championship and being able to race at the Hungaroring. I hope that I will already have some good results by the time we arrive to the home event.’
