Sir Stirling Moss dies at the age of 90

Motorsport world mourns the death of Sir Stirling Moss, one of the most versatile British drivers of all times.

He drove for 10 teams in Formula One, he raced 67 GPs between 1951 and 1961, and won 4 of them. He was runner-up on four occasions, and although he had never won a Formula One word title, he was widely acknowledged as one of the greatest drivers.
Besides Formula One Sir Stirling Moss competed in endurance and rally races as well. He was a true racer in the times, when most of the drivers did not make to the retirement. Finally he announced his retirement at the age of 33, after having an accident that put him in a coma for some months. He won several legendary races, 212 altogether in different categories of motorsport.
He never really left motorsport, at the age of 81 he still participated at races for historic cars. As his wife said: ‘He died as he lived, looking wonderful. He simply tired in the end, and he just closed his beautiful eyes and that was it.’
