Travel

Join the race for a greener future, get to the Hungaroring smarter

Hungaroring Sport Plc. has been committed for years to ensuring that fans arriving at the Hungarian Grand Prix can choose from an increasing number of environmentally friendly transport options. Our goal is to work together to reduce CO2 emissions from transport, minimize air pollution, and ease traffic congestion and noise levels in the surrounding area.

Our transport partners also contribute to this effort. Year by year, more hybrid and electric vehicles are added to their fleets, making travel to the event even more sustainable for fans.

Did you know? The Hungaroring is located just 1.5 kilometres from a rail-based public transport connection—so with a short walk, you can easily choose a convenient and eco-friendly alternative.

Join us and let’s work together for a cleaner, more sustainable environment!

What transport options will be available during the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix?

Planning for transport to the 41st Formula 1 AWS Hungarian Grand Prix has begun. As in previous years, we strongly recommend using public transport and shared mobility options, as these are the most effective ways to reduce road congestion.

Traffic plans and routes are illustrated on the maps below. Please note and accept that the planned traffic arrangements may be modified by the police depending on traffic conditions. Always follow police instructions.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Although cars take centre stage at the Hungaroring, we encourage those who can to leave their private vehicles at home and use public transport to reach the circuit. We recommend the services of the MÁV Group (HÉV suburban railway, buses, and trains).

As in previous years, the H8 HÉV line will operate with increased capacity during the event, running more frequently than usual—every 10–15 minutes—with each “green” train capable of carrying several hundred passengers.
The MÁV Group will operate free fan shuttle buses from Kerepes HÉV station to Gate 3 of the circuit. In addition, the circuit gates can also be reached from Szilasliget HÉV station after an approximately 30-minute walk.
For the return journey to Budapest, the MÁV Group recommends taking the dedicated shuttle buses from the Hungaroring to Gödöllő, then continuing by train from Gödöllő railway station. Modern, air-conditioned double-decker KISS trains—with several hundred seats—depart every 15 minutes to Keleti Railway Station, offering the fastest connection to the capital. The HÉV service is primarily recommended for passengers traveling between Mogyoród and Örs vezér tere.

Fan shuttle services by the MÁV Group will operate during the race weekend as follows:

PARKING OPTIONS

For those choosing private transport, we also encourage carpooling to help reduce road congestion, environmental pollution, and noise—thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Traffic plans and routes are illustrated in the maps above. Please note that the planned traffic arrangements may be modified by the police depending on traffic conditions. Always follow police instructions.

When arriving and parking, please take the following into consideration:

Arriving by car

The Hungaroring provides free parking for a large number of vehicles in designated parking areas around the circuit (locations of P2 and P3 parking areas and recommended routes are shown on the maps above). A change compared to previous years is that Parking Area P1 will be paid this year. Information on parking fees and payment options will be provided later. Only passenger cars are permitted in the car parks.

Holders of pre-purchased Premium parking tickets may access the Hungaroring according to the traffic routes indicated on the map. When leaving, the use of the VIP route is subject to police control and may vary depending on traffic conditions.

Taxi

During the 41st Formula 1 AWS Hungarian Grand Prix, the official taxi partner of the Hungaroring is Főtaxi.

Főtaxi vehicles are permitted to use the VIP lane created on the emergency lane of the M3 motorway up to Exit 18, after which they merge into the designated route for general traffic.

Passengers can conveniently book a taxi through multiple channels: via the Főtaxi mobile app, online, or by phone at +36 1 222 2222 through a 24/7 dispatch centre. Fares are charged at official regulated rates.

For return journeys, taxis will wait for passengers at the designated taxi rank near Gate 8, in accordance with the agreement with the Hungaroring.

Please note that traffic arrangements for taxis may be modified by the police depending on traffic conditions.

City Shuttle service

During the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, fans can travel directly between central Budapest and the Hungaroring using a dedicated shuttle service, with return trips available after each race day.
The service operates in both directions and will be expanded this year with online pre-order options.
Buses with capacities of 19 and 50 passengers run continuously from Friday to Sunday between 07:00 and 20:00, with departures depending on demand and traffic (maximum every 20 minutes).

Ticket prices:
One-way ticket: 25 EUR
Return ticket:     38 EUR

For convenience, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Detailed information about online ticket sales will be provided soon.
On-site payment is available upon boarding, in cash, by card, or online.
The exact location of the Hungaroring shuttle stop is shown on the maps below. In Budapest, buses depart from the stop in front of the City Park Ice Rink (Városliget).

Carsharing service

During the 41st Formula 1 AWS Hungarian Grand Prix, the official carsharing partner of the Hungaroring is Wigo.
Visitors using the service can park in a dedicated parking area during the race weekend (its location is indicated on the map showing the bus parking area).
Wigo will offer special deals for Formula 1 fans—more details will be available soon. The fleet also includes a wide range of electric vehicles, providing an environmentally friendly option for visitors committed to a more sustainable future.

Coaches

Tourist buses and charter coaches can park in a designated paid parking area located between Gates 3 and 6 (see map below). The parking fee is a flat rate of 85 EUR per day, regardless of vehicle size or passenger capacity. The recommended access route is via Main Road 3 through Szilasliget.
Bus parking tickets are already available online (www.gpticketshop.hu) or can be purchased on-site in cash only (HUF or EUR) upon arrival. To ensure smooth parking operations, drivers are kindly asked to prepare the exact amount where possible.

Recommended routes:

Arriving by motorcycle

Visitors arriving by motorcycle may use the free car parking areas. However, please note that these parking areas are not paved.

Arriving by bicycle or scooter

Visitors arriving by bicycle or scooter can leave their vehicles at the bicycle racks located near Gates 7 and 2B.
