European Truck Racing Championship

12-13 June 2021

European Truck Racing Championship returned to the Hungaroring after 25 years in 2015, and as expected the battle of the monsters enjoyed great success among the fans. And not only because of the home successes achieved by Norbert Kiss, but this is a major international series that let the fans look behind the scenes.

Norbert Kiss, two-time European Champion Hungarian driver, have been racing again in a Hungarian team since last season, with a MAN race truck (1150 HP and 5300 kg). And he is a title-contender! Last season no champion was crowned due the insufficient number of races (if it had been crowned, Norbert Kiss would have been the champion), however, the results seemed very encouraging, suggesting the Hungarian crowd might enjoy home successes in the middle of June at the Hungaroring.

Although the paddock cannot be visited this year due to the pandemic situation, we will provide many interesting programmes for the whole family at the spectators’ area behind the stands, including exhibitions, road safety programmes, jumping castle for the kids, model cars and wide range of gastro offer.

Sustainability

The future is ours (too)

We live in the present, and we try to make the best out of all the present international race, but in the meantime, we are thinking of the future too, because sustainable development means the responsibility for the next generations. Hungaroring, as other members of the motorsport industry, considers sustainability as an important issue.

In doing so we introduce the returnable cups for the major international races. At the ETRC weekend, spectators can have their drinks in a Hungaroring-designed recup. Later this summer there will be two more F1-designed recup for the Formula 1 Magyar Nagydíj and some surprise for the WTCR, too.

Your task is very simple: buy a cup, return it for a token, and if you get thirsty again, exchange the token for a cup. If you like the cup, feel free to take it home as a souvenir to recall the nice memories or victories. It is important to note that the tokens can be used at the following race as well.

Moreover, we will pay even more attention to the waste recycling at the spectators’ area from now on. Paper, plastic and glass will get into the ‘mixed recyclable waste’ bins and they will be sorted out later at a special station and head for recycling.
