Sustainable development is one of the most important issues in motorsport - Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) awards one, two or three stars to circuits according to their level of sustainability. We are proud and delighted to announce that Hungaroring has been awarded the highest rating: three stars.
During the process, the complex and comprehensive field of sustainability was brought into focus: the day-to-day operation of the renewed Hungaroring, facility management and event organisation. These areas were examined in terms of environmental objectives and processes, such as energy, waste, water, soil pollution, procurement processes and air quality.
Hungaroring applied for the star rating by submitting operational documentation online and demonstrating its progress through both on-site and virtual audits. The result has just been announced: the Hungarian circuit was awarded Three Star FIA Environmental Accreditation.
“Over the past months, we have worked extensively to achieve the three-star accreditation. We have greatly benefited from the continuous support of the FIA and its Sustainability Team, whose ongoing monitoring and professional guidance have helped us identify and follow the right direction. For us, the three-star certification is not the sole objective; sustainability itself is equally important. We are committed to doing as much as possible to contribute to this objective in a meaningful way.” Zsolt Gyulay, President and CEO of the Hungaroring Sport Zrt. said.
